Hebrews 12:1-2 – Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us

The FIFTH annual Faster than the Pastor 5K is held in conjunction with the annual St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Harvest Festival. The festival is a great weekend of fun for the entire family that includes kids games, inflatables,  beer tent, music from GB Leighton and more!

This year it includes a fresh new look for the 5th Annual Faster than the Pastor 5K, and the well attended children’s Little Lambs Mad Dash. The 5k course is USATF certified and chip timed.  A serious race with serious fun!  Pastors are fee, so BRING and REGISTER YOUR PASTOR and see just how fast you are.  With a twist to your typical 5K….IF YOU ARE Faster than the Pastor(s), you will have your name entered into a raffle to win an iPad2!  For each pastor you beat, you earn a raffle ticket.

The Little Lambs Mad Dash is an obstacle course for kids 10 and under. A fun way to introduce kids to racing in a way that they will love!  This race takes place on the St Vincent de Paul school soccer fields. While waiting for each group to race, kids excitement will build as they celebrate and grove to our Little Lamb Mad DJ!  At the end of the race each participant receives their own goody bag, cookie and water.

As a major fundraiser for the parish community, the festival has something for everyone.  Please come back at noon after the 5K race for more fun for the entire family.  Our parish mission is to Know, Love and Serve the Lord.  10% of all proceeds from the festival are donated to Feed My Starving Children.

Like to support another great cause inside an already great event?  Also present at the event is Claire Frances Baker – The Shoe Collector. This 18 year old, St Vincent de Paul graduate is collecting your old running, walking, sandals & others from the back of your closet – providing Soles4Souls around the world. Shoe drop off will be located near the registration area.  With your help Claire Frances has facilitated the collecting of over 125,000 pair of shoes for those in need around the world!
